IMPORTANT
As the Bifrosts world grows bigger and more complex, the importance of consistent world building and progression grows larger. So, the staff has started an F.A.Q to hopefully answer the more specific questions regarding city ideals, crafting, and more!
Anything that hasn't been answered on the website can hopefully be answered here. This will be updated as more questions arise.
What can characters be named? Can they be named directly after a god/goddess?
- Yes! Names derived from the gods' names or that have meanings associated with them are allowed as well. On the website, we have listed the name origins we allow; but we’ll list them here too for ease of access.
- The felines reside in a Norse Icelandic world, so they would all have Nordic based names. Some languages we allow for naming would be; Scandinavian, Irish, Swedish, Icelandic, Faroese, Danish, or any North Germanic language. You are always free to ask admins for any concerns relating to naming.
How do I get things approved?
- Scars, bans, injuries, plots, ect all should be asked and discussed in your personal ticket, or be discussed in a plot ticket! If you’re unsure which ticket would be best, asking in your personal ticket is always a safe bet.
How much is a cycle in-game?
- A cycle is a full moon cycle, so 28 days!
How does aging work? What does the timeline look like?
- The timeline is rather messy, but it serves as a general idea of where your character is at. It’s used to gauge when certain events in their life start and when they rank up. When your novices are going to become adults, they will be aging slower. For memory, they’ll be aging a cycle every two weeks rather than every week, so the timeline will naturally become out of sync.
When creating future characters, if we wanted a ban, would we be able to buy it with any of our pre-existing characters’ banks?
- Before you create your character, you can choose to buy any bans with existing character's banks. However, once your character is created, they can't purchase/apply bans once they reach adulthood. You cannot purchase bans for existing characters after they've been created, (example being heterochromia, mute at birth, deaf at birth, etc).
How do you decide which character gets coins when submitting compiled art pieces?
🟂 If you have two or more of your characters in a single drawing, then you can choose where the coins will go for your characters. They must go to one character and cannot be split.
- Coins go to their respective character! So Character A has 3 pieces drawn and Character B has 4, then those 3 pieces of Character A will be counted and the coins will go to them while the 4 pieces of Character B will be counted and then go to them.

Does Bifrosts have sign language?
- We dont allow complex forms of sign language in Bifrosts as no one on the team is a part of the deaf-community or know sign, so we prefer to keep SL out of the group so we do not offend anyone / participate in harmful stereotypes for the deaf community; which is why we have not allowed deaf characters to have their felines speak 'unusually' as it is offensive and partakes in those negative stereotypes. As admins of the group, we have a responsibility to ensure our members are portraying disabilities sensitively and accurately, and we have decided our experiences with sign language and the deaf community are not good enough for us to feel confident we would utilize SL gracefully or be able to moderate it properly.
