Do not look to the ground for your next step; greatness lies with those who look to the horizon. |
Forseti is the city located at the southernmost portion of the island. These cats live in deep forests and greatly value the earth and plant life.
Cats of Forseti are the largest and bulkiest of all the cities, perfect for walking through rugged terrain and building. Forseti cats are exceptionally close to one another, constantly helping and interacting with each other in every stage of life. They are given more freedom to explore independent interests outside of their ranks and are relatively welcoming to all forms of life. As a result they are open to guests and trading with cats outside of their city. |

Leadership
Forseti is run by one large group of felines, known as the Council. Which is a group of felines consisting of eight seats, in total. These cats make the city's decisions together as a group, representing Forseti as a whole. When a new seat needs to be filled, a Council Trail will take place. Several felines will step up to the challenge, and partake in a variety of competitions. When the Trials are over, voting will take place. The city members will all vote with pebbles, placing one in front of the candidate they'd like elected. Council members may place two pebbles for their favored candidate. Whoever has the most votes wins.
The current Council members are Erica, Erling, Fritjof, Ketil, Ragna, and Ylva. |
The current Leads are Sirka, Sigge, Rura, and Aslaug. |
Healing
The role of a healer in Forseti is very common, due to the city's focus and preference of healing and life. A healer focuses on their studies of herb knowledge and healing rather than fighting or hunting. Forseti can have up to six healers, and any can take on a novice at any time, creating a total of twelve healers if all six appoint themselves an apprentice. All healers work together, meaning their is no official head healer of Forseti. If there is a unofficial head healer, they're typically the eldest as they are more respected and well-known in the city.
While the healers all work together, they do have their own separate, personal tents. But as all healers are trained together, it is not uncommon or unheard of that some may choose to sleep in the same tent, and view each other as close friends or family.
Housing
Tents are built utilizing animal pelts and twigs to create tightly woven, insulated housing. The floors are covered with animal hides then animal pelts and furs are spread out to create bedding.
All of the kittens live in one large tent (called "The Cocoon") with each other and are taken care of collectively by the city regardless of where they come from. The city will often send in babysitters to watch the kittens in shifts, therefore all kittens are collectively raised together by the whole city rather than their parents.
When kittens become novices, they are divided up into "Pods." Pods are dens with other novices where they live and sleep together while training.
Forseti believes greatly in Group living. Adults can live with whomever they would like in large tents, this includes friends, family, acquaintances, etc. Living on your own is uncommon.

Education
Forseti holds a coming of age ceremony for all kittens who have reached the age of six cycles. This ceremony is of great importance towards the cats of Forseti, and is typically held in the center of the city, allowing the children's fate to be displayed for all to see. At six cycles, all Forseti kittens will be assigned teachers, to be trained together by them. Forseti is unique in it's role as it separates Forseti Novices into ''pods'', which are groups of novices that sleep and learn together as they explore their city's ranks and pave their futures. During the day, novices are free to explore the city and each rank, typically shadowing different ranks. At the end of the day, these pods regroup and continue their general education and socialize. Pods are typically very close to one another, as they spend the majority of their time interacting and working together.
At 10 cycles of age, each Novice will choose what rank they would like to pursue. It is a ceremony of equally great importance, if not more-so than before. This is where Forseti Novices are officially recognized as citizens of the city, as they receive the class they will specialize in.
Raising Children
Parent's do not raise their children in Forseti. Commonly, Forseti raises children as a whole, with different felines entering the Cocoon, which is Forseti's nursery, where all children are raised. If a parent is over-bearing to their off-spring or shows obvious favoritism, they are looked down upon. Everyone in Forseti should treat eachother as family and have that special bond with each other.
A Union of Souls
When two or more cats have fallen in love and wish to be united and recognized as an official coupling, they may present themselves to the council for approval. They then decorate themselves in paint, and often a festival and dance will be held for their wedding.
The Beginning
Forseti deeply values new life and growth, and therefore greatly celebrates the birth of a new kitten! The council and healers all visit the new kittens and give them their blessing. In addition, any other members of the city can visit and often bring the new mother and kittens gifts. These kittens are also bestowed with their birth runes.
The End
As age creeps onto a feline, they are encouraged to retire as an elder of Forseti. By the age of seventy-one cycles, they are pushed to retire as an Elder and spend their days in rest. The Council will recognize the cat's service to Forseti, and thank them for their contributions to the city. They are then told to rest and heal their physical or spiritual wounds, and spend their last cycles in content and peace.
The Passing of Time
Death is rejoiced and mourned in Forseti. These felines often believe in the celebration of time-passing, and the celebration of the life that feline had during their time on Fyrstheim.
Life moves forward, the old leaves wither, die and fall away, and the new growth extends forward into the light
When a feline of Forseti passes, many close relatives and friends will gather to wish them fare-well as they depart back to Jörd. The goddess of the earth. All Forseti felines believe in Jörd and that she will guide them to Valhalla or Hel's lands, when they are buried in her land. The body is then buried deep underground and a single seed is planted over their grave; so that the body may fertilize the seed so that foliage may grow in their place.
- These cats care greatly for the earth and its health, and all lives on it. Many kittens are given flowers or gifts from the earth at a young age, to keep with them always.
- Forseti Cats often use plant-related or earth-related terms to describe the felines in their city or describe anything in general. Such as Seedling, Hatchling, Mud-for-brains, or Strong Roots.
- Forseti greatly values the importance and meaning of Runes and Rune Stones. Whenever a novice reaches the age of 20 cycles, they receive their rune tailored to their birth and characteristics.
- Becoming apart of the council is a valuable position to have, and a great honor to be elected for.
